Ever since I could remember, I've had this urge to do something that would benefit others in a way that I could live my life and say that something I did created a better world for someone else no matter how big or how small they may be. As you get older though you get wrapped up in your own world and start to forget these dreams that at one point were quite important to you. I woke up the other morning and decided enough was enough, I'm a 19 year old girl with more possibilities than I know what to do with. I decided I would take a trip to South Africa this summer and work for 3 weeks in an orphanage to help bring smiles to the faces of children. What better way to give back to a world that has given so much to me, then by helping a country who after 300 years of apartheid has still stayed strong? My mission is to raise the 3000 dollars necessary to achieve my goal. Not only will this trip be to help the children of South Africa, but I will be keeping an extremely detailed journal of my trip and taking as many photos as possible in order to bring an awareness to those who may not know what else is out there. I thank everyone who has taken the time to read my mission and hope to raise the money by April 2007.
